    FamilyLine History!

It's time for a little FamilyLine history! Take a look at this article from our Spring '66 newsletter about the "Seagulls" (aka migrating Navy wives of that time) who would travel to meet their sailors where they were in the world. In 1966 it cost $409 ROUND TRIP for a 21-day excursion to Europe! Wouldn't it be nice if that was still the price? 😉 #byspousesforspouses #nsfamilyline #familylinehistory #navyspouse #navyfamilies #volunteersmakeadifference

Time for another volunteer spotlight! Meet Susan. Susan has been a Navy spouse for 12 years and has been a COMPASS mentor for 7 years. While she is well versed in many of our COMPASS sections, her favorite section to teach is Navy History & Traditions. When asked why she said, "I think it really builds that foundation for spouses to better understand the Navy as an organization and not just a career choice. I think it helps spouses understand the WHY behind their Sailors join

    Motivational Monday

As Navy families, we are often asked to "embrace uncertainty". It can be difficult to see the beauty during tough chapters like deployments and PCS moves, but when you really reflect on those times, you might be surprised by what you accomplished and the relationships you built, that made you who you are today. #byspousesforspouses #nsfamilyline #motivationalmonday #embraceuncertainty #nextchapter #navyfamilies #navyspouse #militaryspouse #volunteersmakeadifference

It is time for a little FamilyLine Fun Fact Friday!

Our organization was created in 1965 with a mission to support Navy spouses and their families. To do this, they created a quarterly newsletter that was distributed around the country. These newsletters contained valuable resources and information for that era, and this issue from Spring 1966 included a special letter from the CNO, Admiral David L. McDonald commending these women for their work. While we have tried our best to preserve these documents, some do not read as wel
