Today is National PTSD Awareness Day. PTSD Awareness Day was established to educate people on the effects that post-traumatic stress has on the lives of those who have been impacted by it. Today is used to bring awareness to the public but also help to educate and hopefully eliminate the stigma that is associated with PTSD. Unfortunately, many people with PTSD do not seek treatment because they often times fear the labels that are attached to PTSD.
Our hope is, with support and education, that everyone can have a greater understanding of the signs of PTSD and how we can provide better care for those affected.
